Sepa-incasso: single or standing authorisation
SEPA Direct Debit is a single or standing authorisation. This is the ideal and easiest way to have your customers make single or periodic payments. This payment method is especially suitable for subscriptions. SEPA Direct Debit is available in all 34 countries* that are part of SEPA.
Customers authorize you to debit amounts from their account. That can be either a single or standing authorization. With a standing authorization, customers give you permission to debit an amount daily, weekly, monthly or annually. A standing authorization can be used, for example, for paying in installments or subscriptions, but also for collecting the contribution from members of clubs and associations.
How does online payment with SEPA Direct Debit work?
The consumer places in order for a product service or subscription with a webshop and selects single or periodic payment by means of SEPA Direct Debit. This calls up an on-screen form that the customer can easily complete.
In case of a single authorization, the customer grants permission for the one-time debiting of an amount from his or her bank account. In case of a standing authorization, the customer grants permission for a first (down) payment using a different payment method, such as iDEAL, Mister Cash or credit card. Once this first payment has been made, subsequent direct debits can be performed automatically.
Permission granted by the customer is communicated directly to the webshop by email or the feedback functionality.
